Key Result: Low abundance of Golden perch was detected in all years. All Golden perch were collected downstream of Wangaratta, except for 2019, when two small (<15cm) fish were detected upstream. These are the first small Golden perch detected in the Ovens River and are likely the result of Golden perch being stocked into the Ovens River (first stockings in 2017).
Stocking: In 2016 no Golden perch were stocked; 30,000 stocked in 2017; 50,000 in early 2018; and 51,000 in early 2019.
